Venezia

We're ending our second day on Venice. Yesterday we visited Murano and spent the better part of the day watching the glass artisans and going from gallery to gallery, and shop to shop. My favorite part of the day was venturing inside the town and finding a quaint pub filled with locals enjoying a leisurely lunch. We sat for quite a while, watching and listening to their interactions. I loved it!

I love the old and the new of Venice. There are some gems of history that you stumble on when you least expect it. Last night we were heading down a sidewalk and walked past a door that was open. Inside, there was a man working in his workshop that looked like it could have been from a few hundred years ago.

Today we visited Lido. It reminded us of a beach town on the East coast in the States. Since this is the off season, there were very few people walking around, but the slower pace was just fine! We wondered for a few hours, then ate a leisurely lunch.
